Bacon Wrapped Smokies

This recipe does take some time to make but it is well worth the effort. The combination of brown sugar and bacon is out of this world. It is easier to wrap the wieners with cold bacon.
Ingredients -
1 Pound Sliced Bacon, cut into thirds
1 Package Beef Cocktail Wieners, (14 ounce)
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar, or to taste

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

2. Refrigerate 2/3 of the bacon until needed.

3. Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

4. Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.

5. Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly.

6. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.

Serving Suggestion:
These little bacon wrapped smokies are the perfect appetizer for parties and potlucks. You just leave the toothpick in; and people can grab whenever hungry.

Cooking Tip
Bacon Tip:

Find bacon in your local grocery store that is thick cut. The thicker the bacon, the more you have wrapped around your cocktail wiener after they have been cooked.
